A new book by Roderick N. Shade and Jorge S. Arango
Photography by Peter Madero
Foreword by Star Jones

  • The first book to define and describe the new urban interior design and the influence of Harlem on the global design community

  • Compiles interiors designed by some of the country's hottest designers whose work exemplifies the style

  • The new Harlem Renaissance has put this neighborhood – an emblem of urban style and sophistication – on everyone's radar screen once again

  • Through 125 photographs and fascinating text by a team of style makers at the epicenter of this movement, this book surveys the historical roots of Harlem style, and then takes a detailed look at the elements that define this aesthetic, from color palette to texture to accessories. The final section pulls the elements together by presenting interiors from across the country designed by many of the hottest names in contemporary urban interior design.
